September Plant-Based Whole-Foods Community Potluck

Wednesday, September 30 | 1:00–2:00 PM Erdle Lounge at the JCC Immediately following Wellness Wednesday Celebrate the flavors of harvest season at our monthly Plant-Based Whole-Foods Potluck, a collaborative community gathering with Rochester Regional Health, Lifespan, and the JCC. Our potluck is about more than sharing a meal—it’s an opportunity to connect with others, discover new recipes, try unfamiliar foods, and find delicious ways to add more plants to your plate. Eating a greater variety of plant foods can support a diverse and healthy gut microbiome, and research suggests aiming for around 30 different plant foods each week as a helpful goal for increasing dietary diversity. Whether you’re already eating plant-based or simply curious about adding more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, herbs, and spices to your meals, everyone is welcome! Please bring: A plant-based, whole-food dish to share with approximately 6–8 people whole foods work just fine if you don't feel like cooking or things like hummus, dips, spreads, fresh or dried fruits/vegetables, nuts or seeds A copy of your recipe or a complete ingredient list so others know exactly what is in your dish and can recreate their favorites Utensils will be provided. Please drop off your dish to pass to Erdle Lounge prior to RRH Wellness Wednesday (if you are attending). Come hungry for good food, new ideas, conversation, and community. Let’s take advantage of the abundance of harvest season, expand the variety of plants on our plates, and learn from one another—one delicious dish at a time! Community members do not need to be JCC members to attend. Registration is required. You may register online in advance or sign in the same day at check-in. We never want registration to be a barrier-everyone is welcome. REGISTER
