Join the Democracy Center for a screening and discussion of Good Bye Lenin, a film by Wolfgang Decker. In this lighthearted, comedic take on the fall of the Berlin Wall and the unification of Germany, a young man seeks to protect his fragile mother from a fatal shock after a long coma, by keeping her from learning that her beloved nation of East Germany as she knew it has disappeared. We'll start with snacks and a reception at 5:30, and screen the film at 6:00. Immediately after the screening, we'll have a discussion, facilitated by Randy Stone, Professor of Political Science, and Ania Michas, Program Coordinator for the Skalny Center for Polish and Central European Studies.
