Native America 250

Today there are 575 Federally Recognized Tribes of Native Ameri cans across the United States, but not all Native Peoples operated on the same timeline. Many important events took place over the past 250 years as the U.S. has signed treaties, taken land, granted rights, adopted polici es, had conflicts, and made peace with various Native Nations. Topics suc h as the Indian Removal Act, The Navajo Long Walk, Wounded Knee, Boardin g Schools, Citizenship Act, Code Talkers, and the Indian Religious Freed om Act will be discussed during this overview of the past 250 years of rela tionships.
